Website Development - Modern Web Solutions
Professional website development - responsive, fast and effective
A custom website starts at $2,100 and an online store at $6,500. The price depends on how many pages you need, how much copy has to be written from scratch, and which systems the site connects to. You work directly with the developer building it — there is no account manager between you and the code. Quotes are free, usually within 24 hours.
What you actually get
A finished, working site — not a theme with your logo dropped in. Specifically:
- A structure built around how you sell, rather than a layout your offer has to be bent to fit
- A panel you can edit yourself, without emailing me every time a price changes
- SEO fundamentals from day one — heading structure, structured data, sitemap, clean URLs
- Real mobile performance, measured on a device rather than in a lab
- Accessibility — contrast, keyboard navigation, meaningful alt text
Where others cut corners and I do not
Images. Unoptimised photos are the single most common cause of slow sites. Modern formats and lazy loading routinely cut page weight several times over. It is an hour of work that a lot of builders skip.
Third-party dependencies. It is convenient to pull libraries and fonts from someone else's server. The catch is that every such host is a failure point you do not control. I self-host them — less fashionable, but your site does not stop working because somebody else had an outage.
The things that only show up a year later. Maintainable code, sensible content structure, no plugin doing one job that five lines would do. A site built for fast handover starts falling apart at the first substantial change.
Why hire a developer in Poland
Worth addressing directly rather than dancing around it.
Timezone. I am on Central European Time. That is full working-day overlap with the UK, Ireland and continental Europe, and my afternoons cover the US East Coast morning. You are not waiting overnight for answers.
GDPR is native here, not bolted on. Poland is in the EU, so data protection is the default assumption rather than a compliance exercise added at the end. For European clients that removes an entire category of problem.
Rate. Mine is $95 per hour, against $100–200 typical for US and UK agencies. That gap is not lower quality — it is the absence of an account manager, a project manager and an office to pay for. You are paying for the person writing the code.
The honest trade-off: I am one person. An agency can put five people on a deadline and I cannot.
WordPress or something else
WordPress for most businesses — you own it outright, edit content yourself, and are not locked to one supplier. The ecosystem is enormous and finding someone to take over maintenance later is trivial.
Grav for simpler, fast sites. No database, noticeably lighter, smaller attack surface. Good fit for brochure sites and portfolios.
A custom build only when the site has to do something no existing system does. I do not sell custom code where WordPress would do the job.
I do not dismiss Wix or Squarespace on principle — they can be sensible to start with. Just know that leaving them later is expensive and their SEO ceiling is low.
What happens after launch
I do not disappear once the project ships. You can stay on maintenance, come back when you need changes, or take the whole thing over — you get full access to the code and hosting, with no dependency on me.
That last point is worth checking with any developer before you sign. It is common for a site to formally belong to the client while being unmaintainable without the person who built it.

Frequently asked questions
A custom website starts at $2,100 with me, and an online store at $6,500. The final figure depends on how many pages you need, how much copy has to be written from scratch, and which systems the site has to connect to. I quote after a short call about scope — any number given before that would be guesswork. The quote itself is free.
Custom web development means the site is built around your process instead of forcing your business into a template. In practice that means a structure matching how you actually sell, integrations with the tools you already use, and no features you pay for but never touch. The trade-off is cost: a template is cheaper up front and cheaper to change later, so custom only pays off when a template genuinely gets in your way.
Rates vary enormously by location. US and UK agencies commonly bill $100–200 per hour, offshore marketplaces far less, and the gap is mostly about who actually does the work and how many people sit between you and them. My rate is $95 per hour, and you deal directly with the person writing the code — there is no account manager markup.
ChatGPT can produce working HTML, CSS and even a simple app, and for a landing page or prototype that is often enough. Where it falls short is everything around the code: hosting, security updates, performance, accessibility, SEO structure and the decisions about what the site should do in the first place. AI has made building faster — it has not removed the need for someone accountable when the site breaks.
