Facebook just re-launched it's progressive web app. PWA is definitely technology of the future. You don't need native app, or even lousy Facebook Lite app. All you need is just web browser. Tap the notification, install and .. that's it. Your PWA will be listed as regular phone app. More. Soon, you will be able to install Facebook PWA on desktops, various mobile devices or even TV. Just by visiting their page.
So, how it works. Well. Just go to facebook.com using your mobile phone or tablet. After 2-3 seconds you will notice following notification at the bottom of your screen:
Just click on it. Your browser will ask if you want to install your app, hit Yes.
That's it. Your app is ready to use. Just run it like a regular app.
Isn't that simple ? We just want to mention that it's not a regular website. Under the hood there's thousands of improvements like service workers, cache and eben offline mode. It's all done so you don't feel the difference between regular app and progressive web app (PWA). To be honest, I even prefer PWA version. It absolutely ROCKS !!
P.S. This is how it looks on desktop :)
